First UK printing published by Basil Blackwell in 1930 though no date in book.Wrappers.Hand-made paper [Printed at the Shakespeare Head Press].The BOOK is in VERY GOOD+ condition.The covers are slightly darkened at the spine and edges. They are also slightly nicked at the edges.Front cover separated from the spine at the lower edge for 5cm.A little fraying to the spine ends.George Devine's penned name to the second blank end-paper.Otherwise clean and tight internally.The author's second book,preceded only by the very rare Nine Experiments which Spender printed himself. This is one of the scarcer sixty unsigned copies. There were a further seventy- five numbered copies signed by the author.George Devine was the renowned actor and Theatre Director.The George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright is named in his honour.A lovely association copy. ashtonrarebooks welcomes direct contact.
