[261 x 165 x 15 mm]. 138, [2] pp. Bound in the original cream cloth, the covers blocked in gilt to a linear design after Ricketts, the spine lettered in gilt, plain endleaves, top edges gilt, the others uncut. In the original cream paper wrappers, with the same design and lettering in red. (Long tear on front of wrapper repaired, a little frayed around the edges). Limited to 950 copies. A fine copy in a very good and uncommon dust-wrapper, which has done its job of protecting the cloth. Ricketts died in 1931 and the design for the covers and wrapper were were worked out by Reginald Savage from Ricketts's rough sketch. With the bookplate of the Art Workers' Guild. The Guild was established in 1884 by a group of painters, sculptors, architects and designers associated with the ideas of William Morris and the Arts and Craft Movement. It moved into its current premises at 6 Queen Square, Bloomsbury in 1914. The bookplate was designed by Harold Nelson (1871-1948), sometime Secretary of the Guild.…
