Uncommon title. First edition, first printing. 8vo. Wheat boards with black titles. Pictorial dustwrapper. A very good copy with clean boards. Spotting to edges & titles & less so in text. No inscriptions. Small retailers ink stamp to corner of rear endpaper. The very good dustwrapper has nicking at head of spine & leading corners o/w complete. Dusting to rear panel. Original price of 7/6net to front flap. Only published in hardback in the UK & in first edition which is unaccountably scarce. The exploits of Alonzo MacTavish the tough handsome man about town against the underworld of Mayfair are vividly portrayed in this collection of nineteen stories.
