A beautifully bound copy of the first edition of Ewen M. Tod's illustrated early twentieth century guide to wet-fly fishing. Featuring a portrait frontispiece, and nine photographic plates and illustrations. Collated, complete.Tod presents a treatise on the use of the traditional wet-fly in the streams and rivers of Scotland and the borders, with chapters devoted to tributary streams, the fishing of burns with the wet-fly, and an account of necessary equipment, 'including Mr. Tod's inventions'.In later editions, Tod stated that 1500 copies of this first edition were produced. Rebound in half calf, with gilt detailing to back strips, paper covered boards, and with endpapers renewed. Externally fine. Internally, firmly bound.
