About this Item
FIRST EDITION. Octavo (21x13cm), pp.96. Publisher's brown cloth, in photographic dust-wrapper by Alec Murray. A lightly used copy with a little edgewear, dustiness and toning. Very good. John Osborne was an anti-Establishment writer, one of the 'angry young men' and leading playwright of England's post-war youth generation. As an actor he had several movie credits, notably appearing in the cult British films 'Get Carter' (1971, opposite Michael Caine) and Flash Gordon (1980, with Brian Blessed, Timothy Dalton, Peter Wyngarde and Max Von Sydow). This sharp social satire was his third play and his first musical; an outrageous romp through the heady sub-world of gossip-columns and newspaper columnists. Seller Inventory # 50085
