Boards rubbed, with wear to hinges, corners and spine ends. Crude grey endpapers, page block foxed lightly throughout. Opening with 'The Compleat Snobs', E. F. Benson's hilarious, dry vignettes of Edwardian high society are gathered together in this Great War publication, produced accordingly, and no doubt offering light relief for the rest of society. E. F. Benson (1867-1940) was an extremely prolific English writer, completing over fifty novels, four novel series, short stories, plays, biographies, and other non-fiction works on subjects as varied as golf and grave digging.
