FIRST EDITION 8vo. hardback, halfbound in maroon morocco, gilt, with marbled boards. All edges and endpapers marbled. 132pp. plus Errata. Pencil inscriptions to rear blank and top of title page. Attractive bookplate of previous owners to front pastedown. Large water stain to top corner of last six pages. Some light foxing and soiling to first few pages. Outer hinges very rubbed and starting to split at top and base of spine. Corners also rubbed and some edgewear and rubbing to boards. The Chaucer Bookshop is situated in a beautiful 18th Century building inside Canterbury's city walls. The building was originally one house but was established as a bookshop in 1956. The adjoining property was also later acquired and the bookshop greatly extended.
