HARRIS, each with etched plates x15 - x15 - x14 [thus possibly lacking one plate] - an early pencil note on the covers of one of the folders reads - ' Plates to transactions in France, Brabant & Flanders &c in wch. England is implicated.' All of the plates have a printed legend below - 'Battle at Newcastle on Tyne of the King of Scotland against the Queen of England' - A Priest called John Ball stirs up great Commotions in England' - 'Tournament at Inquelvert, by 3 French Knights, against all comers' - 'the King of Hungary addressing the French Knights his Companions on the success of their Expeditions into Turkey' -

About this Item

'Rasse of Harselles and John of Lannoys with 6000 Men of Ghent slain at Meule a Village in Flanders'. All stitched into blue sugar-paper wraps, uncut, one volume dented in the top margin affecting most of the plates though not the images, occasional old and faded staining in some margins, mostly in good condition. *The occasional plate has a watermark for 1804; John Harris was a prolific engraver during the first half of the nineteenth century. I have not been able to trace this work and cannot tell if it is complete. It is offered as a collection of plates, 'as is' ! Seller Inventory # 65401
