Completed Jan 1870 (SPD 1, 81892) The first railroad bridge across the Sacramento River at Sacramento Photograph of a bridge in Sacramento, photographed by John A. Todd in 1870. The California Pacific Railroad Company built the first railroad bridge across the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The first train crossed on January 29, 1870. The bridge was located near the current location of the I Street bridge. J.A. Todd was active as a photographer from 1870 to 1884, in Sacramento and from 1887 to 1896 in San Francisco.
