Map dimensions 73 x 104.7 cm, overall dimensions 79.3 x 111.2 cm. Folding map of London and the surrounding areas showing the extents from Potter's Bar down to Caterham and Thurrock across to Windsor. The four mile radius from Charing Cross and the three and twelve miles radii from the G.P.O are printed. Completed and proposed railways are differentiated. The distances from the terminii are marked in miles along the railway routes. Full original colour. The county, borough and postal district boundaries heightened in colour, the abbreviations of the postal districts also printed on the map. The map dissected into 36 sections and laid down on linen. Folds into green cloth covers, gilt lettered on upper board and blindstamped to both. Publisher's advertisements pasted onto end section verso and pastedown of covers. Covers slightly worn causing slight loss to gilt lettering. Dampstaining to linen verso, but not evident on recto. Paper somewhat soiled and toned overall, but otherwise in good condition.
