Large-scale original lithographed map of Great Britain (204 x 107 cm) sectionalised and laid onto linen, folding between marbled paper covers into publisher's original green cloth slipcase with title label (worn) to upper portion. This key map is divided into 360 squares, each one corresponding to one section of the Ordnance Survey. With a note "Railways inserted to 1889". Some light trivial soiling, rather extensive annotations in red, especially along roads, generally a very good copy of this impressive large-scale map. Scarce: OCLC traces just 2 incomplete incomplete copy at the University of Scotland (missing northern sheet), and the University of Manchester (also missing northern sheet).
