Island), Tavaitoenammaoo (or Middle Is.) 85 x 57 cm. 3rd edition. Insets: plan of the bar and Hokianga River, the entrance to Port Manoukao, the southern port, Stewart island, Dusky Bay, Victoria, Bay of Islnds, Port Nicholson, Owerry or Pelorous River. Very little detail is showing in the Middle Island except for the Cook Strait area, the Eastern Coast and Dusky Sound area. Showing very rich land according to native accounts in present day Canterbury and Otago. Highlights lagoons navigable for large ships. Includes Maori names of areas. Some minor tears on the margins, repairable , some dust staining. Fine example of an early NZ map.
