First edition thus. A scarce, hand coloured vue d optique of the Collosus at Rhodes, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. This is a French edition, published by Mondhare. Although undated it is circa 1770. There is some staining to the edges, with a large stain to the bottom left edge. Small nicks to the edge of the plate. The colouring is reasonable, but done quickly. The only other copy of this edition we can find is in the Library of Congress collection. 30cm x 43cm. .
