About this Item
A desirable typed letter signed by Bertrand Russell, 26th November 1964, addressed to the author Graham Greene. Russell opens, The war in Vietnam is a particular challenge to Western intellectuals because, apart from the dangers to world peace which are involved, extensive torture and atrocity have characterised it from its inception. It is probably that no British Government can prevent the United States from pursuing its policy in South East Asia except by open defiance and this is not likely. He goes on, But it may be hoped that the Wilson Government can be induced to apply some pressure and, apart from our own proclamations, I can think of no other means of influencing the war in Vietnam. In fine condition. An interesting association. Seller Inventory # 001057
