It is probably that no British Government can prevent the United States from pursuing its policy in South East Asia except by open defiance and this is not likely. He goes on, But it may be hoped that the Wilson Government can be induced to apply some pressure and, apart from our own proclamations, I can think of no other means of influencing the war in Vietnam.
