Biggs (1822-1905) was an amateur photographer in the Indian army. He was supplied with a camera by the British East India Company in 1854 and appointed Government photographer in Bombay to record architectural and archaeological sites from February to December 1855. This photograph is a plate from the publication Architecture at Ahmedabad, published in 1866.
