About the Author: Suzanne M. Wirth is a native of New York State. She grew up in Getzville, New York in a loving home with two parents and four brothers. At age thirteen Suzanne decided she wanted to be a counselor and help people. She attended several universities and graduated from Erie Community College, State University of New York at Buffalo, and Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. She has an Associates Degree in Applied Science, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work, and a Master s Degree in Counseling Education. Suzanne sought additional training in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt. She has owned and operated The Safe Place for Family Counseling since June 1974. She is licensed by New York State as a Mental Health Therapist and certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services to be a treatment provider and evaluator. As a parent herself, Suzanne understands the complexity of raising children. With all four children grown and launched, Suzanne and her husband live in Hamburg, New York with their three dogs, two cats, and fish,but no birds!
