Three May Keep a Secret is a fast-paced mystery.
Grace Kimball, recently retired teacher in the small town of Endurance, is haunted by a dark, past event, an experience so terrifying she has never been able to put it behind her.
When a shoddy journalist, Brenda Norris, is murdered in a suspicious fire, Grace is hired by Jeff Maitlin to fill in for Brenda, researching the town's history. Unfortunately, that past has dark secrets.
When yet a second murder occurs, Grace's friend, T.J. Sweeney, a homicide detective, races against time to find a killer. Even Grace's life will be threatened by her worst nightmare.
Against a backdrop of deaths and a 175th town celebration, Grace and Jeff find an undeniable attraction for each other.

About the Author
Susan Van Kirk is a writer of short stories, mysteries, anda creative, non-fiction memoir about teaching. She was educated at Knox College and the University of Illinois
Her first mystery about thesmall town of Endurance led to a novella, TheLocket: From the Casebook of TJ Sweeney (April, 2016); and two moremysteries, Marry in Haste (Nov. 2016)and Death Takes No Bribes (spring2017.) A high school and college teacher for forty-four years, she has alwaysbeen interested in mysteries since she read the entire Sherlock Holmes seriesat an early age. It was love at first murder, and yes, her parents wereworried.
Currently her retirement job is writing, and she spends hertime between the small town of Monmouth, Illinois, and the large city of Phoenix,Arizona, home to her three children and nine grandchildren.

Lettie slid into a chair,"What's the new editor like? Is he good-looking? Funny? Smart?" She paused."Your age, perhaps?"

He's definitely not hard on my eyes. "Ihaven't known him long enough to interrogate him on his dark and murky past,Lettie." Grace stood up and headed upstairs. "Time to get rolling."
Watchingher climb the stairs, Lettie muttered, "Male, breathing. What more could shewant?" Then she rose, walked over, and yelled up the stairs, "You might want towear something ... attractive."

Against a backdrop of murder, Grace and Jeff findan undeniable attraction for each other. However, Grace knows nothing of hispast, and when suspicious deaths begin to occur, she finds herself wondering ifshe can trust this mystery man.
