Add to basketFirst US edition, first printing, signed by the playwright on the front free endpaper. This edition collects five of Stoppards early plays: A Separate Place (1968), Where Are They Now? (1968), If You're Glad I'll be Frank (1969), Artist Descending a Staircase (1972), and the title play (1969). This copy is from the theatre collection of Clive Hirschhorn (b. 1940), the film and theatre critic for the Sunday Express for over three decades, with his 1989 ownership inscription on the front pastedown. Octavo. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in pink. With dust jacket. Ownership signature of "E. Gallagher" to front free endpaper. Spine ends bumped, ink mark to bottom edge; jacket spine slightly sunned, extremities creased, small chip to head of front flap fold, rear flap clipped but price intact: a very good copy in very good jacket.
