Add to basketFirst edition in English, signed by the author on the half-title. The director's memoir was first published by Iwanami Shoten in 1981. Loosely inserted into this copy is a printed announcement for the event at which the book was signed: "An Evening with Akira Kurosawa" at New York's Japan Society in 1985. Kurosawa is one of the most influential filmmakers in the history of cinema and was instrumental in introducing Japanese cinema to a Western audience. Octavo. 4 pp. black and white illustrations. Original quarter linen, spine lettered in white, cream boards, front lettered in white. With dust jacket. Spot of wear at foot of spine, edges toned, a few marks to top edges; jacket unclipped, faintly toned, marks to rear panel, a few shallow chips at edges: a very good copy in like jacket.
