Dust jacket slightly soiled with some chips and tears to edges. *** Rex Reed (born October 2, 1938) is an American film critic. This is his first collection of film reviews and essays. A beautifully evocative picture of what was going on in the world of cinema at the end of the 1960s. It includes a memorable put-down of Andy Warhol's films: 'The films of Warhol lack beauty, expressiveness, meaning, relevance to anything but a certain group of social rejects who find in them, perhaps, temporary escape from narcotics and folk music.' Reed's tastes are conservative, but his pieces are highly entertaining, sharp-witted and he writes in a style that would make many literary writers jealous.
