A UK first edition, first impression. SIGNED by the illustrator, Rodger McPhail who has also added an original pencil drawing of a bird ( a snipe, I think ). Unique thus. The Wrapper : The wrapper on this copy is bright, complete and unclipped. It shows inconsequential bruising to the upper corners. Looks sharp. The Book : The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are clean and unfaded. It shows inconsequential bruising to the upper corners and the spine ends. The pages are clean and bright. The closed page edges are bright - there are some marks on the bottom edge. The binding is tight - no cracked hinges. No remainder marks. Rodger McPhail has drawn a snipe on the half title page.
