Add to basketThe Macmillan Company, New York 1922. First edition. 469 pages. Original blue cloth with lettering in gilt to spine. Spine ends crumbled. Light rubbing to boards. Pages with light foxing. Name to titlepage and to front free endpaper - see note. Herom beretter bogens næste ejer, bibliofilen M.K. Nørgaard i 'Bogvennen* 1948: " (.) The book belonged to Georg Brandes, the renowned Danish intellectual, who signed his name on the titlepage (just below the title and a bit above the author's name.). According to a pencilled note on the rear pastedown, the sparse notes in the book are also by Brandes. **When Brandes died in 1927 some of his books were sold at an antiquarian bookstore in Copenhagen where this copy was purchsed buy bookcollector M.K. Nørgaard - who proceeded to write his name on the front free endpaper.
