232 pages. Illustrated with photos, elevations, plans, and details. First Edition, First Printing with the "1" in the number sequence. Inscribed by Philip T Shutze and Henry Hope Reed on the front free end paper to an individual. Dust jacket protected in a new mylar sleeve, not price clipped. Dust jacket has slight fraying at the top of the spine and a 1/2" chip on the rear panel, otherwise clean, sharp and attractive. Book is very clean, square, and solid, no marks except for the inscription. First 46 page chapter is on Philip Trammell Shutze of Atlanta Georgia by Henry Hope Reed. Many additional chapters on classical architecture, painting, and sculpture in the United States with special emphasis on the great decades from 1890 to 1940. Mr. Shutze was a major influence on the architectural community in the first half of the 20th century. His Swan House on the Atlanta History Center property is a masterpiece of his classical design style. This book signed by Philip T Shutze is a rare find.…
