First UK Edition. Inscribed by the author to the title page: "Inscribed to Mrs Johnson / by Peter Scott / 29th September 1962." Neat gift inscription to fly leaf "To Mother, / with love, / Priscilla. / 25th April 1961." 'Mother' presumed to be the aforementioned Mrs Johnson. VG book (dust spotting to top edge, a few spots to fore and bottom edges, contents clean and tightly bound) in like unclipped wrapper (spine somewhat sunned, spotting to rear fold and upper edge of rear flap). Period postcard (unused) showing a view of The Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge loosely inserted. Signed first printings are uncommon. Photographs/scans available upon request.
