Description:
Signed edition, limited to 555 copies, this is numbered 261. Also included is a letter by Kenyon, on the letterhead of the Assembly Chamber of the State of New York in Albany. This book is in Very Good condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends, corners and edges of the book covers have some bumping, rubbing and wear. The gilt lettering on the spine of the book has dulled. The covers have several spots of ground-in dirt, and there are two small spots of ink on the rear cover. The text pages are clean and bright. There is an inked over, previous owner's name and address on the front pastedown page. This copy has been additionally signed by the author, with a short inscription, dated 1924. The front inner hinge has a three inch light crack. The text pages are mostly clean and bright. "James Kenyon graduated from the Hungerford Collegiate Institute in Adams, New York, in 1875. He entered the Methodist ministry in 1878, and held various pastorates, including Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, Oswego, New York; and First Methodist Church, Syracuse, New York. He was noted for his literary gifts, and Syracuse University conferred a Doctor of Literature and Letters degree on him in 1892. Kenyon retired in 1916, and beginning around 1920, worked with dictionary and encyclopedia firms." (from Hymntime) ; Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # A45085
