Cloth, gilt cover-title, 4to, iii, 72 pp, facs. Uncommon. This is principally (the first 49 pages) an index to the additions in a grangerized edition of Forster's Life but there is much else too . Gregory provides in addition: 'Index to the American Visits in preparation for 'American Notes,' pp. 50-58; 'Portraits of Charles Dickens Contained in Volume X' (161 portraits are listed), pp. 59-66; 'The Politics of Charles Dickens,' ( a transcript of part of a letter from Dickens, 7 July 1865, to Percy Fitzgerald-in which Dickens refers to himself as a Radical Parent) p. 66; 'Autograph Letters Signed' (111 letters, with two from Dickens, the one mentioned above and the other to Dr. [Thomas] Mayo, 8 May 1850), p. 67; 'Small Reproductions' (of plates reproduced in the Dickensian, 1905-22), pp. 68-69; 'Charles Dickens and Punch' (an exchange of letters between George Gregory and 'R. C. N', February 1926), p. 70; 'Addenda' (several items added to the copy, including nine autograph letters, one from Dickens), p. 71; and 'Errata et Corrigenda,' p. 72. A Presentation copy signed and inscribed by the author to 'Mr Fletcher' on the flyleaf. The presentee was perhaps a relative of Angus Fletcher - a letter from Dickens to Angus Fletcher is reproduced as the frontispiece to the volume. A few short notes added in ink, otherwise Near Very Good.
