A satirical tale conceived and at least partly written with Christopher Sykes while the two of them were on the journey which Byron recounted in The Road to Oxiana. The binding is a pastiche of the patterned cloth often to be found on nineteenth century Oriental travelogues.Presentation copy, inscribed by Robert Byron on front free endpaper: "To George affectionately and gratefully from his old friend Richard Waughburton - July 1935". On the front pastedown is the bookplate of the presentee, George Harwood who was a friend of Christopher Sykes from their days at Oxford.Fine in very good dustwrapper, designed by Christopher Sykes, creased and a little rubbed at edges.
