With each lesson, Ash presents a handful of recipes--variations on a theme that start simply, then progress to reveal more complex combinations. With clear-cut instructions and a dash of charm, Ash helps cooks build confidence in the kitchen and proves that any dish, no matter how intricate, is based on a handful of simple techniques and troubleshooting know-how.

Pan-Seared Sea Bass with Pineapple Melon Salsa. Mojo-Marinated Skewered Beef. Warm Spinach Salad with Bacon, Apple Cider Dressing, and Oven-Dried Grapes. Mushroom-Ginger Soup with Roasted Garlic Custards. Orange Ricotta Cake with Strawberries. Discover an irresistible assortment of extraordinary recipes prepared with global accents and a light touch. As one of the guiding forces behind California cuisine, Ash uses fats judiciously and encourages cooking with seasonal produce. His final lesson, an introduction to wine, rounds out this groundbreaking cookbook.
An unprecedented blend of instruction and inspiration, John Ash: Cooking One on One swings open the kitchen door, stocks the pantry, and invites cooks of all skill levels to dish up fresh, flavorful food at home.

Terms of sale
Postage is based on the weight. We have created different shipping templates for different kinds of items that we sell based on the weight class of books, but also on the value of certain other items that require specialized shipping.
We have 7 different shipping templates: One for light items such as Audio Cds, four for books and two for comic books.
As a example, for most books weighing up to 2.9 lbs (1.3kg) standard postage within Canada is $11.99USD to the USA with Media Mail is $7.99USD and for "standard" International mail is $36.00USD. GST is charged on books and shipping for all Canadian customers.
The shipping templates have a default amount for a second book in the same order but this applies only to items of the same weight class or category. For example, the second CD is charged at $6. Obviously we cannot send a CD and then a second book weighing 7 lbs for a total of $12. We recommend that for orders of multiple items, to contact us to get a quote for shipping. Books requiring special shipping or priority shipping will be quoted. We are glad to quote delivery costs to International buyers. International shipping has become more complicated so it is best to contact us as to the cost and time required for delivery.
Books are carefully wrapped and usually shipped in corrugated cardboard cartons. Books are returnable for a full refund if the book is not as described. The book price only will be refunded for any other reason. Please notify JWMah in advance of any return within 7 days of receipt of the book before sending it back so that we can give you the correct return address for your particular location. .
