10 x 10 x 11cm wooden box containing a perfect-binding cube-shaped book (approx. 9 x 9 x 9cm) of approximately 800 colour leaves printed on a Rotaprint R70 duplicator, unpaginated. An artist's proof, separate from the edition of 100. Significant provenance: signed on the box exterior by artist John Wells (co-designer of the box at Watford School of Art, dedicated to artist Tom Phillips). Produced between January 1968 and March 1969. The 'recipe' reads: "PRINT until you can't stand it any more or [until] you don't want any more, take away, for binding for instance, the sheets which the machine cannot take any more (torn, wrinkled, or beautiful according to someone's taste), don't throw anything away". Negligible rubbing to surfaces of outer box, otherwise very good condition. Seller Inventory # 27394
