Although much technical language is used by the various experts, many of the day-to-day workings of how a live program is put together will interest professionals and amateurs alike. In addition there is a detailed section on how to get a job in this very competitive field. An entire chapter is devoted to the landmark program Saturday Night Live, and there is much backstage material about such events as beauty pageants, the Rose Bowl parade, and charity telethons.
