Inscribed first edition of this biography of the famed civil rights leader and attorney. Hooks was the long-time executive director of the NAACP, serving from 1978-1992 and was largely responsible to revitalizing the organization. He died in 2010. 9'' x 6''. Original black cloth lettered in gilt. In original unclipped (no price) color pictorial dust jacket. 388 pages. Inscribed by author Hooks to front endpaper: "To / Denise Allen / Thanks / & / Peace / Benjamin Hooks." Jacket lightly rubbed. A couple of small corner bumps. Else clean and sound. Near fine in a near fine jacket.
