First edition. Octavo. pp [vi], 105. Wrappers with flaps.Presentation copy from the author, inscribed to his first wife on the title-page with the pet name the couple used: ''For Lo�s with fondest love from DISRAELI''. The previous year Hamilton had divorced Lo�s; he continued to inscribe books to her, despite having remarried shortly thereafter. Loosely inserted is a Typed Letter Signed by BBC producer E.J. King Bull, dated 2nd October, 1952, and on the headed writing paper of the BBC: about 90 words to Patrick Hamilton in a positive spirit regarding a production of Money with Menaces, one of Hamilton's radio dramas, which had been broadcast a week earlier. This information is not mentioned in the letter but emerges from some internet digging. The BBC also produced a television version of The Man Upstairs in 1954.Backstrip defective at head with loss to the title. Very good.
