Another was printed in Paris, 1832, in Portuguese, but that one has a much less elaborate coat of arms (smaller, without supporters and wood-engraved) on the first leaf.In 1831, after failing to form a ministry sympathetic to absolutism, D. Pedro I dissolved the ministry without forming another, abdicated in April, 1831 in favor of his 5-year-old son Pedro, and left Brazil. In this manifesto, signed 2 February 1832 on board the frigate "Rainha de Portugal" - as his small fleet sailed from Belleisle to the Azores - he explains his decision to fight D.
