First Edition, First Printing of this beautiful picture book which was awarded the Caldecott Medal in 1944. Inscribed by the Author on the verso of the front free end-paper: "For all the Millers/ with Love/ Jim/ James Thrurber". Exceedingly uncommon to find inscribed. Scans invited.
