Limited Edition, number 26 of 50 signed copies. First Edition, thus. Cloth backed boards with gilt lettered cover and spine, Japan Paper, etchings by Adolphe Lalauze. Plates in two states, each signed by the artist, 2 frontispieces portraits of the author "etched from life" by William Strang. The frontispiece is signed by Austin Dobson and William Strang, and the second portrait is also signed by Strang. Signed by Lalauze 6 times, below each etching--signed vol 1, pages 32, 148, & 250; vol 2 pages 12 20, & 136. In very good condition, with some rubbing to boards, vol 1 with tear along spine, pages clean and unmarked.
