Item description from seller

First edition, inscribed on the half-title in black ink and red and green acrylic by the artist, "for Jeff love David H". Hockney has surrounded the inscription with an acrylic painting of a canvas on an easel being presented in a room, with a curtain and wall decoration on the preceding page, and five "David Hockney" ink stamps with drawn stands. The recipient, Jeff Daly, was Chief of Design and Senior Design Advisor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and worked with Hockney when his retrospective was shown. This work was published to coincide with the exhibition held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 4 February - 24 April 1988, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 11 June - 14 Aug. 1988, and the Tate Gallery, London, 26 Oct. 1988 - 3 Jan. 1989.
