First edition, first printing. Shirley Hughes' retained copy, signed by the illustrator. Original green cloth with silver titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout in black and white by Shirley Hughes. A fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean and bright throughout. Complete with the rubbed and nicked original dustwrapper which is a touch faded to the spine and a little dusty to the rear panel. Not price-clipped (10s. 6d. to the front flap).
