Quarto. 342pp. A near fine copy showing only light wear to the extremities. The printed anticipated publication date to the upper cover has been altered in manuscript from February to March. Rare in this form, exceptionally so in presentation state. Inscribed by the author in black ink on the title page "John Le Carr� / aka / David / for / the one + only (alas) / Greg, with much affection / 25 iii '99 / Toronto".
