SIGNED FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp 224. Colour frontispiece plus 31 monochrome photographic plates, each with multiple images; line drawings by George Djurkouic and maps by A Spark within text. Publishers' blue cloth with green titles and ruling to spine in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Cover cloth lightly soiled, with spine lightly partially sunned and boards bruised to edge and corners. Ownership inscription to front paste-down in ink, and another in pencil to ffep; signature of the Author, without dedication, to title page. A little scattered foxing, mainly to prelims and endpapers, and very slight staining to free endpapers, otherwise contents clean and bright. Minor nicks & creases to jacket, and very slight loss at spine tips; jacket likely supplied from another copy. A Very Good copy overall, in like jacket. Climbing autobiography of Hillary's part in expeditions over his lifetime and the the Everest 1953 expedition in particular. Signed by the first man to attain the world's highest summit.
