Add to basketFirst UK Edition. Publisher's cred boards with black lettering to the spine. SIGNED & INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. Boards bright and clean. Inscription on FFEP reads: "To Johnny for a wonderful weekend - Rene xxx". The book is VG. Top edge of text block quite spotted but not affecting fore-edge or base, half title page also quite spotted (on both sides) but the rest of the book unaffected. Slight crack to the joint between the FFEP and pastedown side, most likely a production fault. The dustwrapper has edgewear, is price-clipped (and repriced 6s net) and is covered in a laminate (although fortunately the dustwrapper has not been attached to the book) The laminate extends onto the reverse side of the dustwrapper to a depth of approx. 3cm. NB: science fiction horror novelisation of the author's 1956 TV serial which was then made into a low-budget feature film in 1958 directed by Gilbert Gunn and starring Forrest Tucker, Gaby Andre, Martin Benson and Alex Mango: Scientists accidentally blow a hole in the atmosphere resulting in visiting aliens and giant bugs. NNB: Rene Ray (Countess of Middleton) was an actress, singer and and author. Rare in first edition. Further photographs/scans available upon request.
