The inscription, dated 30 March 1980 and located Andover Massachusetts, remarks on the praise Synergetics has received from a range of scientists, and predicts "we are about to witness academic science having to recognize that Synergetics is nature's most economic and lucid accounting system". "Synergetics, according to E. J. Applewhite, was Fuller's name for the geometry he advanced based on the patterns of energy that he saw in nature. For Fuller, geometry was a laboratory science with the touch and feel of physical models-not rules out of a textbook.
