Internally, half title, [8], [5], 6-120 pp, 14 aquatint engravings, (Tooley & Abbey both call for 13 engravings, here the 14th plate is by Alken after Miss R. Sotheby), 1 pl with old repaired tear to horizontal tear, text leaves watermarked JR. Engravings from drawings taken on the spot by J. Smith. A lovely example with wide margins, entirely uncut, with contents fine & bright. Presentation copy with -From the Author- on the title - uncommon. (310*241 mm). (Abbey 513. Prideaux p353. WITH THIRTEEN HAND-COLOURED AQUATINT PLATES First edition, VG+, large quarto, [8], 120 pp, thirteen hand coloured aquatint plates (including frontispiece) by S. Alken after J. Smith. Twentieth-century black straight grain morocco, covers decoratively bordered in gilt, spine decoratively tooled and lettered in gilt in compartments, board edges and turn-ins decoratively tooled in gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges uncut, very minor damp staining in the upper margin of a few leaves, small stain to a few leaves, just affecting the margin of plate facing p7, neatly repaired marginal tear to H4 (pp55/56), ink ownership signature to verso half title (Humfrey? 1834).
