A complete set of three books, intended to "instruct, appall and amuse," issued in 1963 as a boxed set in a slipcase, with: The Insect God (1), The West Wing (2), and the first appearance of The Gashlycrumb Tinies (3). Written and illustrated by Edward Gorey. All three books have been SIGNED BY GOREY on the title page. All are unpaginated [(1) 32, (2) 64, (3) 64 pages] with b&w illustrations throughout; 7.25 x 6.75 inches. Ref: Toledano A13. Condition: All three are hardcovers with no dj as issued and all have slight to dark tanning to the spine and rubbing to the spine ends. (1) A light dog ear to the rfep and two stitches of the sewn binding have pulled out at the rear; (2) A small tear at the crown; (3) A small spot of abrasion to the front and four tiny stains to two pages; aside from the aforementioned, the interiors of all three are clean and bright; (slipcase) solid but rubbed at all edges and extremities. Ships the next business day, wrapped in padding, in a box.
