Follow Junie and Elmo on their up and down journey to find their fortunes together, only to earn and lose millions more than once.
Junie and Elmo were destined to become partners once the blaring horn of an automobile brought them trogether at a busy intersection in downtown Dallas. They thrived until bankruptcy loomed, an event they faced many time in Texas, Wisconsin and Arizona.
Elmo married Faith, an inexperienced sex education teacher, and together they produced two children – the son attracting the attention of DEA and the daughter the object of scrutiny by the Phoenix vice squad. But Chappie, now almost 50 years old, after having been released from prison, again, showes up in Phoenix to claim his rightful inheritance, of which there was precious little to claim.
After Faith Dies, and Elmo becomes older and ill, his three greedy children, in sink with each other suggest that

But Junie intervenes and gets Elmo to help him "Climb that Mountain – one last time." A fortune at last?
