LIMITED EDITION (119/525) SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 35 vols 8vo. (24 x 16 cm.). Titles printed in white within russet frames, printed on handmade paper with watermark Ganesha, original saddle tan morocco by James Burn & Co., covers with double gilt-fillet border, spines gilt-lettered in six compartments, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt on rough, others uncut, Presentation inscription to first blank "Darling Rick /from /Mummy & Daddy with best love/ Anberley Court/Stroud/ Gloucestershire/ May 1937-38" Very slight variable fading to spines as uual. A fine set. The ulitimate deluxe and definitive edition of Kipling's works including two volumes of previously unpublished prose and verse. Supposedly many unbound sets of the text were destroyed during the Blitz further reducing the actual limitation. (Richards, D23).
