Original blue printed flowers on cream cloth. Upper cover with printed blocked title with author's name. OCLC, 85597567. Gordon Murray (1921 - 2016)was the Author, Illustrator, Calligrapher, Book designer, and Publisher of Silver Thimble books. After his career as a producer and puppeteer for popular children's television programs like Camberwick Green and Trumpton, Murray turned to producing miniature books under the Silver Thimble imprint. Murray performed all aspects of the bookmaking process himself, founded and ran Silver Thimble Books, working from his home in Bexhill-On-Sea, England. He illustrated the books, often using his own hand-colored illustrations and watercolors. He inscribed the text with his own calligraphy and designed the overall look of the miniature books. He bound the books by hand. These miniature books are now considered collectors' items.…

Jason Burley, an accredited full member of the ABA and of ILAB, has owned his own bookshop continuously since 1984, been a past Chair of the PBFA (London) for over four years and exhibited at the PBFA monthly Russell Hotel antiquarian bookfairs & other specialist bookfairs for over a decade. At Firsts London 2024, the Rare Book Fair Committee selected Jason of Camden Lock books for the Award of Best Display of the four-day event. Jason is also co-founder and co-owner of Burley and Fisher Books LLP. - located between Haggerston and Dalston Kingsland Stations, the bookshop has an events space with a bar where we hold over 100 literary events each year, a basement of second-hand books, and a Risograph Printing department. Our stock of new books includes independent publishers and local authors, with general, collectable second-hand books, as well.
