A beautiful facsimile of the 1947 Spillane classic, produced by the First Edition Library and Otto Penzler. This copy was warmly iscribed by Spillane in 2002, see photos. Otto's books often did not have a slipcase but this one is married to a bright, clean slipcase. The book has a tiny bit of wear to spine extremeties, still fine. The dust jacket has a very tiny spot of wear at one corner and a bit of edgewear at top of front fold- very close to fine but not quite. The slipcase has an impression on front panel, not obvious but there, otherwise fine. A really nice copy with Spillane's distinctive signature. Photos are the best description. The First Edition Library published exact facsimiles of desirable first editions, down to the smallest details- cloth, paper, binding, and first edition points were identical to the originals. The series is now out of print, and these facsimile books have become collectible in their own right. The publisher's information card describing details about the book and its publishing is important to collectors, and this book has it.
