An attractive manuscript, apparently executed by Jermyn Moorsom (d.1951), brother of Raisley Stuart Moorsom (1892-1981, a member of the Bloomsbury set), and comprising two foxhunting poems by the Victorian MP William Bromley-Davenport.'Lowesby Hall'-after Tennyson's Locksley Hall-is, according to the sporting novelist George Whyte-Melville, 'the best parody in the English language'. Manuscript on paper, small 4to (202 × 163 mm), pp. [7], [5, blank], [2], [2, blank], ff. [6], plus a couple of blanks at the end; neat manuscript ink on paper, the front free endpaper signed 'Jermyn Moorsom, Feb. 1904'; contemporary vellum, rather finger-soiled, front cover lettered ms. gilt, some offsetting to the endpapers.
