Lucas about his 'Little Library' edition of Elia, and a collection of extracts from periodicals, press-cuttings and booksellers' catalogue entries in a rough paper wrapper signed by Rees, Sarum, April 1914. Housed in contemp. folio pamphlet box. J. Rogers Rees, 1856-1924, was a Welsh banker from Pembroke Dock, a writer, collector & enthusiast for Charles Lamb and William Wordsworth in particular. He wrote a number of 'books on books', essays &c. including Recollections, Diversions, Pleasures of a Book-Worm, 3 vols., 1885-86 and The Brotherhood of Letters, 1889. Drafts here in manuscript include: Lamb and his delicious (delightful) untruthfulness (fibs), Lamb & the Quaker Meeting, The loneliness of Lamb, Lamb and the Drink, Lamb, the thorough-going Bohemian, Lamb buying Jem White's books to give away, Lamb v. Carlyle, Lamb and Gifford, &c.
