PhD Thesis Typescript : Some Problems in the Psychological Study of Perception and Discrimination

Author's retained copy. Comprising: title page, declaration signed by Gauld in blue ink, 3-pages of Contents, then 330 pages, with minor corrections in blue ink, mainly to the page numbering which goes awry several times. Bound in black cloth covered boards lettered in gilt to the spine, which are quite marked and rubbed, with some chipping to the bottom of the spine. The text block is slightly toned, marked and dusty. From the library of notable parapsychologist and paranormal investigator, Alan Gauld (1932-2024). Gauld's thesis, as submitted to obtain his Degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Seemingly unpublished, with the only obvious example in institutional holdings the copy retained by the University of Cambridge. An interesting read for those intrigued to see some of the principles underlying Gauld's later research into the history of supernatural and occult phenomena.
